Driving with our private minibus to Cape Sounion, we will pass through the southern area of Athens; Glyfada, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza, which are the most beautiful and expensive suburbs. Following the coastal route along Poseidon’s avenue, you will have the opportunity to admire the dark blue colour of the Saronic Gulf and the large number of beautiful sandy beaches. After a pleasant 1,5 hour drive we will reach Cape Sounion, famous for its ruins of the ancient Temple of Poseidon and the amazing natural beauty of its geographical location. Here the Athenians built a magnificent marble temple to the god of the sea, Poseidon, in 444 B.C. This temple appears to be identical with the Temple of Hephaestus in the ancient Agora of Athens. It’s of the Doric style, with six columns of 6.12m at the narrow sides and thirteen columns on the long, without an internal colonnade. 
After your visit to the Temple of Poseidon, it’s time for refreshments at the nearby cafe where you can relax and take some stunning pictures while watching one of the most beautiful sunsets in Greece. The famous Sunset of Sounion (depends on time of visit and weather conditions). The duration of the Half-Day Sounion private tour is 4,5h – 5h. Refreshments, admission fees to sites and monuments are not included in the price of your private tour.
